I recently told you it’s Bike Month in Austin and told you all about bike shares. I wanted to let you know about this great website that can make your active lifestyle meaningful for you and others.
Plus 3 Network is where I go to enter in my walks, bike rides, work outs, and even cleaning hours to raise money for a charity I selected. Each activity I enter translates into a certain amount of money donated by an organization to an important cause such as Meals on Wheels, Alzheimer’s Association, International Mountain Bicycling Association, American Heart Association, Susan G. Komen Foundation, Humane Society, American Red Cross, and other organizations both domestic and international.
According to the website:
Plus 3 makes the world a healthier and better place by helping its members lead healthier better lives. Plus 3 Network will count millions of daily rides, runs, walks, or swims as mileage-rewarded fund raising. We are the social network that actively manages, motivates, validates, and rewards our members for participating in fitness activities. Plus 3 links our members with corporate sponsors and non-profits in a shared goal of worthwhile giving. Making It Count is our phrase for this process of bringing people, causes, and sponsors together for the good of everyone.
So far I’ve raised $57.41 for my cause. I challenge you to get out there and beat me! You’re already exercising – this is a great way to keep track of your efforts and raise money for a cause you believe in.
